1.GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ONE LOFT RACE: The New
Derby International FCI Costa del Sol is held in the neighbourhood of Campanillas
- Málaga, in the heart of the Costa del Sol, very close to the international
airport and just minutes away from the province's famous beaches. This is
a slight shift from its previous location, essential for the creation of new
facilities on a plot covering 7,000 square metres. The capacity of the One Loft
Race will now be for 2,500 pigeons, compared to the 1,000 birds that could
be housed at the previous lofts. In addition to this growth, 2017 is a turning
point in the One Loft Race thanks to an expanded organising committee,
following the partnership with the Alicante-based firm Pets At Home JP S.L.,
specialists in the domestic animal industry. Another major new feature is a
radical change in the flight path. In 2017, it will head along the coast towards
Almería to better showcase the calibre of all participants, thereby guaranteeing
a greater extravaganza. All races will be streamed live our website (www.-
derbycostadelsol.com) and all the basketings and races will be broadcast. The
pigeons will be professionally cared for at one of the best facilities in Europe.
Our One Loft Race is part of FCI World Ranking and the National Pigeon
Racing Championship. Participation in the One Loft Raceimplies acceptance
of these conditions, which have a contractual nature. All prizes will be subject
to the legal retentions in force at any moment
2.REGISTRATION: Each fancier may register as many pigeons as they want,
forming a team of 3 birds plus 2 reserves. The registration fee shall be €100
per pigeon, in other words, €300 for a team of 5 pigeons.

Reserves are sent at
a cost of €0 and may be activated before basketing of August 23 in the
release of Adra (140 km) for a value of €100 for pigeon. If you choose not to
activate the reservation, this will take you to a list of activation, being free
and being able to be activated by any other person. The rest of participants
will have access to this list of pigeons that have been free and may be activated
before the next basketing, Roquetas de Mar (170 km) on August 29. As a
result, the first person would lose the right to a prize and this right would be
awarded to the member who activates the reserve. This activation by another
person shall have a value of €100 per pigeon. Admission is open to national
and international pigeons, which must wear rings approved by the Spanish
Pigeon Racing Federation or the FCI in 2017. Registration is between February
1st and May 15th, being May 30 the last day to make the payment of pigeons.
In case of not specifying the rings to be activated, the Organization will
automatically activate the pigeons in ascending order, from lowest to highest
ring. Participants must fill in a specific registration form in order to take part
in the One Loft Race. This form may be downloaded from the website www.-
derbycostadelsol.com or requested via the email address admin@derbycostadelsol.
com. There are three ways of paying the registration fee: by credit
card or PayPal via the website; by bank transfer to the account number indicated
on the One Loft Race website; or through an official agent accredited by
the Costa del Sol Derby. Athorized pigeon collectors are only those listed in
the website
www.derbycostadelsol.com. The entire registration process is explained in
the website section named “Inscriptions”.
3.RECEPTION OF PIGEONS: The pigeons will be received with the costs of
delivery by the participant. The obligatory documents to be handed out along
with the pigeons are: the pedigree of each pigeon, as well as its title of property,
the veterinary certificate, payment check document and the registration
form duly completed. It is mandatory that these documents are in the possession
of the organization of the One Loft Race before the release of the semifinal
(Eagles, September 12). You can send them to us along with the sending
of the pigeons or through the mail admin@derbycostadelsol.com or the
other usual channels. Failure to deliver these documents would void the right
to acquire 50% of the auction. When the inscription is made, the chicks will
become the property of the One Loft Race organization.
4.RACES: The organising committee of the One Loft Race reserves the right
to modify the planned events as it sees fit in order to ensure the smooth
course of the competition and the welfare of the birds. The races in which the
pigeons shall compete are as follows: FIRST, 31 July: University (5 km).
SECOND, 2 August: Port of Málaga (10 km). THIRD, 4 August: Cala del Moral
(20 km). FOURTH, 7 August: Benajarafe (30 km). FIFTH, 10 August: Torre del
Mar (40 km). SIXTH, 14 August: Nerja (60 km). SEVENTH, 18 August: Motril
(90 km). EIGHTH, 23 August: Adra (140 km). NINTH, 29 August: Roquetas de
Mar (170 km). TENTH, 5 September: Cabo de Gata (200 km). SEMI-FINAL, 12
September: Águilas (270 km). FINAL, 23 September: Villajoyosa (425 km).
5.PRIZES: The prize shall be calculated based on a total of 2,000 activated
pigeons and it will be confirmed when the activations period finishes. If this
amount is not reached, it shall be reduced in percentage terms with respect to
the number of pigeons registered. Likewise, it shall be increased if the total of
activated pigeons is higher. Reserve pigeons do not count in the total of
registered pigeons when it comes to calculating cash prizes. The prize list
attached to these rules includes all the categories with prizes and the corresponding
amounts. The first prize amounts to €30,000, with the Overall Ace
Pigeon being awarded €10,000. The semi-final and the 200, 170, 140 and 90
km races also have prizes. The Overall Ace Pigeon prize shall be awarded to
the pigeon with the best score from the following races: 1 race of 420 km, 1
race of 270 km, 1 race of 200 km, 1 race of 170 km, 1 race of 140 km.
6.AUCTIONS: The top fifty ranked pigeons and Ace Pigeon shall be auctioned
as follows: 50% of the value of winning bid shall be for the organising
committee, while the other 50% shall be for the pigeon owner. The other
pigeons shall be auctioned and 100% of the value of the bid shall be for the
organising committee of the One Loft Race.
7.QUARANTINE AND VACCINATION: The owner of the pigeons shall be
required to vaccinate and deworm them before sending. The organising
committee reserves the right not to accept any pigeons which are unfit for
racing. Once sent, the organising committee shall be responsible for vaccinating
the pigeons again, which shall be performed by the official veterinarians
of the One Loft Race. The organising committee shall have the right and duty
to quarantine any birds from countries where diseases or viruses such as
salmonella, paramyxovirus (PMV) or avian flu are present. The organising
committee of the One Loft Race shall not be held responsible for any theft or
accidents which may occur during the scheduled events.
